Bolton’s traditional manufacturing and industrial quarter is undergoing a revival as renovation work nears completion at Swan Lane Mills 1 & 2. Paul Foster went along to meet John Oliver of Mile End Estates LLP at the Swan Lane Mills.

Bucking the regional trend, which has seen the numbers of manufacturing units across the North West slump amidst pressure from abroad, was never an issue for Mile End Estates, the firm who saw the huge potential in fixing up the Grade 2 Listed Building.

The Chamber is delighted that amidst the doom and gloom of the decline of manufacturing, which we have covered in previous issues of this magazine, there is some optimism to be seen in Greater Manchester.
